Why fill cracks at all?
An open crack lets water down into the base. That water works the crack wider every time it soaks in and dries out, and a wide crack turns into a pothole. Filling it early keeps the base dry and stops the damage cheap.
Is hot rubber better than the cold pour from a can?
Yes. Cold pour sits on top, dries hard and cracks loose again in a season. Hot rubber goes in molten, bonds to both walls of the crack and stays flexible, so it holds through the heat and the movement.
Can you sealcoat after?
That's the right order. We fill the cracks first, let the rubber set, then sealcoat over the top for one clean, even surface.
